Bennett visits lawmakers

U.S. Senator Jon Tester met with Lincoln County Commissioner Jerry Bennett last week to discuss rural broadband expansion, EPA clean-up efforts in Libby, and the timber industry. Tester and Bennett also discussed the 2018 Farm Bill, which Tester voted in favor of because it includes increased funding for collaborative forest projects. Tester was the only member of Montana’s delegation to vote for bipartisan legislation that reverses the controversial Cottonwood decision, which has led to increased red tape for Montana timber projects.
