JOB ANNOUNCMENT: Aquaculter Technician I- Burbot: description and requirements: Aquaculter Technician I is responsible  for assisting in hatchery production of burbot at the Kootenai Tribe’s Sturgeon and Burbot Hatchery in Moyie Springs, Idaho. Duties include assisting with spawning, daily feeding of fish and cleaning of tanks, participation in routine hatchery operations, maintaining clean and sanitary conditions, data collection and entry, and assisting other fish and wildlife projects as needed. The Auquaculter Technician I must be available for on-call shifts and be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. Mandatory requirements include: valid drivers license, high school diploma or GED, strong commitment to 40 hours per week (weekends, nights, holidays as needed), ability to pass drug and alcohol testing, ability to obtain passport/gain entry into Canada, ability to be insured under the Tribe’s auto insurance policy, completion of mandatory training courses as needed, ability to lift 50+ pounds, ability to work in cold and wet environments, and ability to work well with others. Wage: $10.00 per hour to start. $11.00 per hour plus benefits package after successful 3 months probation period.
