Pine Tree Plaza

finally falls

The Pine Tree Plaza apartment building next to Troy’s Silver Spur on Hwy. 2 was finally torn down on Thursday, Oct. 19. The building was destroyed by a fire in 2013, but the charred structure remained standing for six more years as ownership, financial, and liability issues were sorted out. To many it was a familiar but dangerous eyesore that will not be missed.  Photo by Ashley South, The Montanian.

Paint it Pink fun run

Glacier Bank hosted  a Paint it Pink fun run fundraiser on Saturday, Sept. 28. Participants enjoyed either a half marathon starting at 8 a.m. or a 5 or 10 K run/walk that started at 9 a.m. Despite unusually cold temperatures and a dusting of snow the event was well attended. Proceeds will be donated to CPMC’s Paint it Pink program for early detection and treatment of breast cancer. The event was one of many scheduled for this year’s month-long Paint it Pink fundraiser.
