Loggers Football at work in community

Thanks to the hard work of some of the Libby High School Loggers football team members, the Heritage Museum’s flower garden got a “face-lift” yesterday afternoon!

The Heritage’s Heirloom yellow rose bush had sent up hundreds of green shoots through the old garden underlayment; making the garden look more like a forest than a flower garden.  The team members, wearing gloves and wielding rakes, shovels, and clippers, (see photos) made quick work of slashing the thorny shoots.

They then raked back the rocks, laid new highway-grade underlayment, and raked the rocks on top of the new underlayment.  Coach Fuller stopped by with his truck, helped finish up, and hauled the garden debris to the Museum’s compost pile.

The Museum volunteer assigned to the garden happily made a “donation” to the

football team’s current fundraising efforts… thankful for their fantastic help!

Thank you, Libby Loggers Football Team!  See you at the games in the fall…
