Kindergarteners learn about nature

Mrs. Root’s Kindergarten class learned about carnivores, herbivores and omnivores last Thursday at WF Morrison Elementary School in Troy. Mary Freniere, a Master Naturalist and a volunteer for Montana Wilderness Association, taught the kindergarteners about the food chain and the wildlife that live on the Kootenai National Forest. Freniere discussed the habitat that the forest provides, and demonstrated how to identify different wildlife tracks, pelts and skulls for the class. Photo courtesy of Montana Wilderness Association.
