Multilingual story time

The Librarians at Lincoln County Public Libraries always seem to be working hard to educate our little ones in creative ways. On Tuesdays at 10 a.m. Librarians provide fun activities that encourage development of early literacy skills in children ages three through five, although all ages are welcome to attend.

This particular week, Karina Hancock presented both Spanish and English reading for kids and parents alike. Hancock was able to speak slowly and had children repeating many Spanish words before explaining the meaning of the word in an easy and understandable way. By the end of the presentation, most of the children, and a few parents as well, were able to count to ten in Spanish and say several colors.
