Lewistown, MT– On Thursday, June 17, Troy
VFW Post 5514 Commander Bill Lafrance greeted Montana Governor Greg Gianforte at the 99th annual State Veterans of Foreign Wars convention. Bill met with Governor
Gianforte prior to his addressing the state-wide crowd of veterans assembled for the conference.
Governor Gianforte then gave a presentation to the group concerning a variety of topics from veterans affairs, state economics, and future goals post-pandemic.
The following day, Bill met briefly with U.S. Senator Steve Daines. Governor Gianforte and U.S. Senator Daines then left immediately to travel to forest fire incident
command centers in southeast Montana regarding the
current status of our wildfires.
On June 19, Ron Merwin from Ronan, was elected the 99th Veterans of Foreign Wars Commander for the State of Montana.
