Friday, Oct. 25

6:38 a.m. Someone from a  local canteen called to report that a patron who fell asleep in his car last night with a gun by his side was now in a different seat and the gun was missing. Officers responded, reported that all was well, and the man went inside for breakfast.

 

Saturday, Oct. 26

3:53 p.m. A caller reported someone wearing a cowboy hat and hitting golf balls at the train. The suspect was gone on arrival but that’s par for the course.

8:53 p.m. A Libby woman called to report hearing gunshots near her home. She preyed that it was not a poacher.

11:18 p.m.  Residents reported a dark green SUV parked in their driveway. Officers located the vehicle to find a man looking for his cell phone. He had thrown it out the window in anger.  Chances are he didn’t find it since it was dark outside and he’d lost his contacts.

2:36 a.m. A man called to advise law enforcement that he was blindsided by someone but he didn’t want to talk about it.
