Montana Gas Price Update

As of Monday, November 29 —

Montana gas prices have risen 0.8 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $3.39/g today, according to GasBuddy’s daily survey of 615 stations in Montana. Gas prices in Montana are steady from a month ago and stand $1.17/g higher than a year ago.

Recipe of the Week  –  Christmas Popcorn Candy

Ingredients:
Popcorn:
1/4 C. vegetable oil
1/3 C. popping corn
2/3 C. sliver almonds
Caramel:
7TBSP. Butter
1 C. brown sugar
1/2 C. corn syrup
1/2 TSP. salt
1 TSP. vanilla extract
1/2 TSP. baking soda

Spices:
3 TSP. cinnamon
2 TSP. ground ginger
1/2 TSP. allspice
1/4 tsp. ground cloves

Directions:
1.) Heat oil in large pot over medium heat. Add a few pieces of popcorn until it pops, then quickly remove. 2.) Add remaining popcorn, shake and spread corn out evenly, cover with lid. Once popcorn starts to pop in earnest, shake only once.
3.) Remove from heat when popping almost stops. Transfer to a very large bowl.
4.) Preheat oven to 230 degrees F. Melt butter in saucepan over medium heat. Add sugar, corn syrup, and salt. Stir until combined. When it starts to bubble, simmer for 4 min. DO NOT STIR. Remove from heat and quickly whisk in spices, vanilla, and baking soda. Whisk for 10 seconds and quickly pour over popcorn. Toss to coat. Sprinkle with almonds.
