4-H Bake Sale fundraiser raises $564 for KPFL

By McKenzie Williams

The 4-H Afterschool Club families hosted a Valentine Bake Sale to benefit Kootenai Pets for Life.  They received support from Rosauers and the community, and they raised $564.

With help from the South 40 4-H Club, families made cookies, cupcakes, cakes, pies and dog treats.

Club Leader, Mandy Bell said, “Our kids are very enthusiastic about community service and love to support KPFL. We are very proud of the work they do in 4-H.”

This is the third year that the club voted to raise money or food for KPFL.

“We have done two bake sales and two pet food collections for KPFL since the club formed three years ago. They are all very caring kids and take service seriously,” said Bell.

They also do service projects like making muffins and visiting the Care Center, and picking up trash around Central School.

The club meets at Central School on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month during early outs, and is open to students who are 8 years to 18 years old.
