Accident on Hwy 37 and two more

At approximately 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 7 near mile marker 4 on highway 37, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office and Libby Volunteer Fire Department responded to a two-vehicle accident that occurred when a juvenile male attempted to do a u-turn and struck oncoming traffic. The young man suffered severe injuries  according to Lincoln County Sherriff’s Office and was taken to the local hospital by Libby Volunteer Ambulance where he almost instantly was flown out by Life flight to Kalispell Regional Medical Center. Thankfully passengers from the other vehicle didn’t have any injuries.

On Thursday, two additional accidents led to fatalities.

A high speed crash into a metal post killed a  man at the corner of Idaho and Hwy. 2 at around 5 p.m.

Earlier, at about 2 a.m. an accident occurred on Hwy. 2 when a man lying in the roadway was run over by a driver near Kootenai Falls.
