Blackbeard the Pirate plays in Libby

Blackbeard the Pirate will be at the Memorial Center on Saturday, April 27. Two shows, one at 11 a.m. and one at 5 p.m. will be presented by a cast of area children from Kindergarten through 12th grade.

A team of two actors/directors from Missoula Children’s Theatre (MCT) will be in Libby all week practicing with students who auditioned for their roles on Monday. By Saturday, they will have mastered those roles and be ready to star in live performances.

Participation in the MCT event is free, and according to a MCT press release, “Creativity, social skills, goal achievement, communication skills and self-esteem are all characteristics that are attained through the participation in this unique, educational project.”

MCT’s residency in Libby is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Kootenai Valley, Kootenai Heritage Council, Libby Public Schools and the Libby Parks and Recreation board.
