$14,445 sought by May 31 to match possible grant funds
Submitted by Kootenai Valley Christian School
Modern playground equipment has been a goal of Kootenai Valley Christian School for some time; however parents, students, and staff became very serious in their fundraising efforts in 2017 towards their goal. The playground equipment at Kootenai Valley Christian School was built in the 1950’s and most of it was removed when it became no longer functional. Over the past 60 to 70 years playground manufactures have developed safer and better equipment that promotes healthier play choices for children. It is the vision of the school to provide students and community families with a safe, healthier place to play, enjoying their quality family time.
In order to make this goal a reality Kootenai Valley Christian School had to put together a team to fundraise and oversee the project. Tiffany Nixon is the president of the playground committee, she has been organizing fundraisers and baking goods for bake sales for two years trying to make this goal a reality for all of the children that attend this school. In two years Kootenai Valley Christian School has raised $15,555 towards the goal of $60,000 dollars. In April of 2008 Tiffany had received news from the Kompan grants department that they were considering KVCS as one of five candidates for a grant match of $30,000 if Kootenai Valley Christian School could meet a sum of $30,000 dollars by May 31, 2018. KVCS believed strongly that as a community this goal could be met. Tiffany has set up a fundraising site on YouCaring.com, she has shared it on Facebook on the KVCS page, also anyone desiring to help or donate can do so in the school’s office located at 1024 Montana Ave. in Libby. Any contributions made will be greatly appreciated.
