The Libby Community Garden Inc. is now taking applications for the upcoming year. All prospective members and former members will need to apply during the application period of April 1, 2018-April 30, 2018. There are a limited number of garden plots available and applications will be accepted and acted upon by the board of the newly organized garden. Prices for plots range from $50 – $150 depending on the size and location of the plot. There is also a $25 refundable deposit for end of the year clean up. These fees are applied to operation of the garden, supplies and tools.
The Libby Community Garden is located on the grounds of the former Asa Wood Elementary School and has become a showplace for the community with many fans in the community. It is a work to eat garden and all members participate in the planting and upkeep of the garden. There are always shared responsibilities in addition to individual responsibilities in being a member.
Membership applications are available at the Libby Chamber of Commerce. Completed applications need to be mailed to : Libby Community Garden, PO Box 490, Libby, MT 59923. Applications will be considered by the board weekly and plots will be assigned as the applications come in.
Libby Community Garden looks forward to a beautiful, productive year at the garden and continued partnerships in the community. Visitors are always welcome to walk and take a tour by one of the members.
