The Libby Ranger District is inviting anyone who has interest in learning more about the Ripley Project to attend a field trip on May 8, 2019.
The Ripley Project is located east of Libby, Montana and US Highway 2, from the Kootenai River south to the McMillan Mountain area. The project area is approximately 28,210 acres in size, including about 18,800 acres of National Forest System Lands. The field trip is intended to provide interested members of the public the opportunity to understand potential vegetation management treatments, road work, and desired outcomes from management of this area.
If you would like to attend, please meet at the Libby Airport at 4986 Farm to Market Road on May 8, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. The field trip will go no later than 3 p.m., so plan to be in the woods and traveling on forest roads for up to 5 hours. Maps and handouts will be provided for attendees on the day of the field trip. Prepare for all weather conditions and bring a lunch and water as they will not be provided.
Please notify the district at the following number if you plan to attend so that we may get an estimate of attendees. Also, for more information on the field trip, please contact Nathan Gassmann or Mandy Rockwell at 406-293-7773.
