A Paint It Pink update from CPMC

Submitted by Kate Stephens

Since Paint It Pink fundraising efforts began in 2007, the fund has helped to provide a digital mammography machine, as well as over 200 free diagnostic and screening mammograms to uninsured area women.
We are so proud of the work that has been accomplished with these fundraising efforts and the PIP program. All that has been done is thanks to a plethora of community partners who have rallied behind this cause, started their own annual fundraising events, asked their customers and employees for donations, and given out of their own pockets. This effort and generosity really is impacting our community and saving local lives.
The Free Mammography Paint It Pink Fund is sitting still, and we continue to provide free mammograms for local uninsured women. Additionally, this year the program has expanded to include ultrasounds when necessary to help define abnormal findings on screening mammograms. We are excited about this expansion, and the opportunity to further help our community.
Paint It Pink continues to raise funds for the detection and treatment of breast cancer for the people of Lincoln County. The Paint It Pink Committee uses this money to help purchase equipment directly related to the detection and treatment of breast cancer, provide training for local professionals who help to detect breast cancer, continue to provide mammograms when the original fund depletes, and possibly even help supplement the WINGS Regional Cancer Program with funds earmarked specifically for breast cancer patients.
If you would like to get more involved in the program, we continue to encourage area businesses to hold their own PIP fundraisers and awareness events. If you are planning on holding an event or doing some fundraising, please let us know so we can help you advertise for the cause. We ask that all donations be turned in to Jill Beach at Glacier Bank on or before October 31 each year.
We are fortunate to live in a community that so generously supports and pulls together for great causes like this one.
