Wednesday, Dec. 19


12:09 a.m. Someone on Wisconsin called 911 for a chimney fire but changed their mind in a flash when the flame appeared to be extinguishing.


3:14 a.m. A man on My Road called to request a deputy’s assistance retrieving an electrical cord from his landlord.  Ace wasn’t open to get a new one, and who knows, maybe his phone was dying.


5:01 a.m. Officers responded to a 911 call about suspicious activity on Minnesota Ave to discover a skunk in the trash.  It was a stinky situation, but they educated the caller about leaving her trash out.


11:24 a.m. Troy received a complaint about a female in a wheelchair on the Kootenai River bridge headed out of Troy. The woman must have rolled on along quite quickly, responding officers were unable to locate her.


8:17 p.m. Someone reported a walker with an individual thrown over his shoulder. Officers were also unable to locate this suspicious activity.



Thursday, Dec. 20


1:22 p.m. Someone reported a sick deer behind a motel in Libby. Officers were unable to locate the ailing ungulate.


2:32 p.m. A missing person reported to the old mill for work only to be told the mill was closed. His presence was reported but he was not paid.


2:34 p.m. One woman on Farm to Market reported receiving three scam calls about social security fraud. She made two calls, one to social security to check the facts and the second to the sheriff’s office to report the fraud. She seems quite efficient and we’re wondering if she needs a job?


Friday, Dec. 21


11:38 a.m. A young man was reported to be standing on the corner of Pioneer Rd. and Vanderwood for over an hour wearing a black coat.   He clearly didn’t want to take a stand on the issue because officers wer unable to locate him upon response to the call.


11:50 a.m. A woman with nowhere else to go wanted to be welcomed at the Sheriff’s office. She was told no.


1:36 p.m. A woman on Crest St. called to report her neighbor’s dog defecating in her yard all the time, except not at this time, because her neighbor was in the hospital and the dog was in a van.


10:56 p.m. A woman on Terrace View called to report herself for causing a disturbance. She and her husband had been drinking, arguing, and shoes had been thrown.


 Saturday, Dec. 22


11:04 a.m. A tall man walking down the road yelling and screaming was reported to 911. You guessed it, police were unable to locate.


1:55 p.m. Someone called 911 to discuss fixing his furnace and bringing in his firewood among other hot topics.
