Jay Olsen, 81 of Troy

Jay F. Olsen, 81, of Troy, died Tuesday March 20, at Cabinet Peaks Medical Center in Libby of vascular and lung disease. He was born at Everett, Wash. April 16, 1936 moved east to the Clinton, Mont. area. He attended the University of Montana and had been a member of the Phi Sigma Kappa fraternity.
He became employed by the United States Postal Service as postmaster at Clinton and in the same position at Browning and later, in 1977, at Troy where he retired and remained until the time of his death. Jay was active in the community with Little League and Boy Scouts and had been a member of Troy Volunteer Fire Department.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Jens and Charlotte Olsen; brother, Ivan and sister Yvonne; a son, Patrick Olsen and wives Joan Olsen and Darlene Obermayer.
Surviving him are his daughter Dorothy Olsen and son, Harold Olsen, both of Clinton; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Services and viewing were held Saturday March 24 at the Troy Church of God followed by interment at Troy Cemetery.
