Karen Morningstar Jorgenson, 70

Karen Morningstar Jorgenson died on August 12, 2018 in Helena, Mont. due to complications from dementia. She was 70.

Karen was born on August 18, 1947 in Washington, D.C. to her parents Ethel and Bernard Morningstar.

Karen pursued various art mediums her entire adult life. She lived in Montana for nearly 40 years, but began painting in St. Paul, Buffalo and Minneapolis, Minn. Being a stay at home mom of three led to the time needed to work on her art. She also enjoyed singing in the church choir.

Karen is survived by her two daughters, Dawn Rowling (Wynn Randall) and Karie MacDonald (KC) along with her five grandchildren; Justin and Jarret Rowling, Kade and Kody MacDonald and Tyrell Randall. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ethel and Bernard Morningstar and her son Michael Jorgenson.

Solomon David Sanborn, 22, of Libby

Solomon David Sanborn, 22, of Libby, Mont. passed away July 28, 2018. He was born March 20, 1996 in Pascagoula, Miss. to Sean D. and Regina Gail (Collins) Sanborn. Solomon attended school at Stillwater Christian Academy in Kalispell, Mont. After school, he worked for Freedom Fighters doing landscaping and yard work. He was preceded in death by his mother, Regina Gail Sanborn.

Survivors include his dad, Sean D Sanborn and step-mom, Jana J Gray Sanborn of Libby, Mont.; and his grandparents, George and Brenda Sanborn of Culver, Ore.

A Memorial Service for Solomon was held at 5 p.m. Saturday, August, 18 at Bridge of Hope Church, 2425 Mt Hwy 37, in Libby.

Juanita F Rice, 79, of Libby

Juanita F. Rice, 79, of Libby, Mont. passed away August 10, 2018 at her home in Libby of natural causes.  She was born September 12, 1938 in Austin, Minn. At an early age, she moved to Roundup, Mont. where she attended school, graduating from Roundup High School as Salutatorian of her class.  She then received her Associates Degree from Parks Business School in Denver, Colo.  In 1966, Juanita moved to Alaska where she lived for 19 years. She returned to Montana in 1985 and lived in Helena until she moved to Libby in 1991.        While in Libby, she worked at Ben Franklin.  Juanita loved needle work and provided many treasured handmade gifts to family and friends. She also enjoyed baking.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Grant Shope and Dorothy and Burl Rice.

Survivors include her brother James Shope; and sisters Saundra Rux, Linda Thompson, and Donna Odell.

Sandra Downey, 69

On August 13, 2018 Sandra Kay Downey, 69, left us peacefully and is now in a better place and without pain. She was born Feb. 8, 1949 in Leadville, Colo. To Ernest and Marie Williams.

Throughout her years she lived a very fulfilling life including travelling and new adventures along the way. She loved the outdoors and did everything from picking mushrooms or huckleberries as well as her love of hunting, fishing and camping. She will be deeply missed by all of her family and friends but she will be in our hearts forever.

Curtiss W Fairbrother, 50, of Libby

Curtiss Wayne Fairbrother, 50, died on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 in Libby. He was born on April 4, 1968 at Dansville, NY to Larry Fairbrother and Melissa Drake.

Curtiss loved to relax and read allkinds of books on hunting, fishing and gardening. He wasn’t able to go out and hike in the woods, but he talked about what he would do if he could. He loved being a grandpa, playing and showing his grandkids animals, bugs, and telling them stories.

Survivors include his father Larry Fairbrother (Sherry), Libby; mother Melissa Drake, Bath, NY; children Stephanie Fairbrother, Libby; Gunnar Fiarbrother; 2 brothers Shannon Fairbrother (Rebecca); Ethan Fairbrother (Christina); grandchildren Arianna James, Teeanna James, Bentley James and Jessee James.

Chance Hilliard, 34, of Libby
