Obituary – Carole James

Carole Elenore (Denis) James, 74, of Libby, left to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 9, 2017, at 11 a.m.

She was born March 25, 1943, to Francis and Laurence Denis in The Dalles, Ore.  She married the love of her life, Jesse James, on March 20, 1965, and celebrated 52 wonderful years of marriage.  She had two children, a daughter Denise and a son, Jesse, and a grandson, Kyle.

Carole was a very loving and caring person and had many friends and young women that called her “mom.”  Carole became an artist in 1970 and was trained by very talented artists.  She loved to paint still life.  She carved and painted bird decoys with her husband and she could knit a blanket in a day!

After her kids were raised, she became Secretary for Libby Christian Church and retired after ten years in 1998.  After retiring, she worked alongside her husband in the Senior Ministry for 20 years until 2008.

Carole is survived by her husband, Jesse J. James of Libby; daughter, Denise of Moscow, Idaho; son, Jesse R. of Stevensville; grandson, Kyle Bangeman of Moscow, Idaho; three brothers, Larry of Lyle, Wash.; Ken of Portland, Ore., and Rick of Baker, Ore.; and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held 11 a.m. Monday, July 17, 2017, at Libby Christian Church.  Arrangements are under the care of Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home of Libby.  Online condolences and memories may be shared by visiting www.schnackenbergfh.com.
