In-depth weather discussion for Northwest Montana/Rockies
Issued Sunday, Feb. 10 at 8:25 p.m.
A fine day on Saturday once we were able to clear out much of the low clouds and snow flurries that greeted many of us in the morning. Another fine day on Sunday with perhaps a little more cloud cover as valley freezing fog and low clouds may redevelop overnight tonight through Sunday. What yesterday looked like another round of light snow late in the day on Sunday now looks to miss our region mainly to the south and west leaving region with simply an-other shot of drier and colder conditions for Sunday night into Monday as another surface high slides down along the Continental Divide to our east. East to northeast winds will pick up Sunday evening be-fore decreasing in most areas overnight on Sunday with remaining areas going calm on Monday. Next system will slide down from the northwest on Wednesday bringing another chance of snow but at this time, nothing significant. General northwest flow looks to persist through the week with perhaps a stronger and wetter system due in next weekend. Overall, after a couple of fine days the second half of next week is looking more unsettled which will help to boost our snowpack. As always, check back often for updates.
