Vaccines are required for school attendance Pre – 12th Grade
DT vaccine administered to pupils less than seven years of age is acceptable only if accompanied by a medical exemption that exempts the pupil from pertussis vaccination per ARM 37.114.705.
Parents of children enrolling in school for the first time will need to submit documentation of their children’s immunizations to the school where the child enrolls. A special certificate of the immunization form has been developed for this purpose and is available at schools and local health departments. All children who have been enrolled previously in school must have documentation of their immunization status on file.
Children who have been exempt from immunization law for medical or religious reasons may be excluded from school in the event of an outbreak of certain diseases such as measles, in order to protect the exempt child and to prevent the spread of disease. Parents claiming exempt status can obtain the form at the Lincoln County Nurse’s Office at 418 Mineral Avenue or call 283-2447.
Additional information about immunizations is available from family physicians, local health departments, or the Preventive Health Services Bureau, State Department of Health and Environmental Sciences, Cogswell Building, Helena, 59620, phone (406)444-5580.
Children entering 7th grade will need a Tdap Booster
