This weeks recipe courtesy of Celestial Smith of the Montanian
Sour Cream Coffee Cake
Ingredients:
1 cup of butter
1 cup of sugar
2 eggs
2 cups of flour
1 teaspoon of baking powder
1 teaspoon of baking soda
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1 cup of sour cream
1 teaspoon of vanilla
For filling:
1/3 cup of brown sugar
1/2 cup of granulated sugar
1 teaspoon of cinnamon
Directions:
- in a standing mixer, cream butter. Add sugar and eggs.
- in a separate bowl, sift together dry ingredients. Add dry mix to butter mixture, alternating with sour cream, beginning and ending with dry mix.
- pour 1/2 batter into a well greased 9×13 pan.
- mix together filling ingredients and sprinkle half onto batter. Repeat with the remaining batter and filling mix.
- bake at 375 degrees for 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean when inserted to middle of cake.
