Volunteers are busy preparing for the 17th Annual Bow Wow Bash, the main fund raiser for Kootenai Pets for Life (KPFL).

Through the generous donations from businesses and individuals in the area, there will be a wide variety of items to bid on.

The Bash will be held  at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 20, at the Libby VFW.  Everyone is welcome to come in, browse the auction items, and place bids on silent auction items.

Dinner will be catered by Paula Hensler and Patty Sergeant, and will be served at 6:30 p.m. The live auction will follow shorty after dinner.

The cost is $15 for one person, or $25 for two. Tickets are available from KPFL volunteers or by calling 293-6801. You must have a ticket to enjoy the dinner. Please purchase tickets by October 15 so the caterers will have the correct number to plan their meal preparations.

Kootenai Pets for Life was started in 2001 by a group of concerned citizens. They  provide a humane, no kill Shelter for the stray and abandoned pet population of the Libby and Troy area.

KPFL is a non-profit, all volunteer organization that provides shelter, assists our community with spay and neuter, foster care, veterinary assistance, and education.

Over 3,500 pets have been adopted, and KPFL has facilitated the spay or neuter of over 8,000 pets.

Microchipping was started in 2012, and over 750 pets now have microchips for easy identification.

The spay or neuter of feral cats was started in July of 2011, and over 745 feral cats have been spayed or neutered to date.

To learn more about KPFL visit the animal shelter located at 125 County Shop Road in Libby or find them on Facebook.
