Rep. Greg Gianforte was selected June 27, 2017, to serve on the House Committee on Natural Resources for the 115th Congress.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to work on behalf of hard-working Montanans on the House Committee on Natural Resources,” said Rep. Gianforte. “This committee was my first choice because it’s critically important we protect our Montana way of life from federal overreach and be able to responsibly develop our natural resources. I look forward to working on repealing unnecessary regulations that threaten good-paying Montana jobs and delivering comprehensive forest reform that puts our timber workers back to work, reduces the risk of wildfires, and improves the health of our forests.”

“I’m excited to welcome Rep. Gianforte to our team,” said House Committee on Natural Resources Chairman Rob Bishop. “Greg brings western values and a wealth of knowledge to the Committee and I look forward to working with him during the 115th Congress. Together, we will tackle issues that are important to the way of life to Montanans and Americans all across the country.”

Julie Altemus, executive director of the Montana Wood Products Association, said, “We’re very happy that Greg will be serving the people of Montana as a member of the House Committee on Natural Resources. His experience and knowledge will be an asset to our industry and our timber dependent communities. We look forward to working with him on important issues, such as comprehensive federal forest management reform and timber resource litigation reform.”

Gianforte has been appointed to serve on the Subcommittee on Federal Lands and the Subcommittee on Water, Power, and Oceans. He was  also appointed to the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform.
