Larry Dwayne Larson, 69, of Libby

Larry Dwayne Larson, 69, passed away Nov. 20, 2019 at North Idaho Hospice in Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho. He was born Aug. 26, 1950 in Libby, Mont. to Chester and Verna Larson.

Larry joined the U.S. Navy in 1970 after graduating from high school in Libby and served on U.S.S. Coral Sea during the Vietnam conflict and received an honorable discharge in 1972. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal.

He went to work at St. Regis Lumber Company after being discharged from the Navy. He worked in the sawmill, then transferred into the woods department for a time and eventually came back into the mill to work in the stud mill, plywood and then finger joint plant where he stayed until he retired in 2008. He attended heavy equipment school and worked at a log yard after his retirement from the mill.

His hobbies included fishing, camping, hiking and photography, and he loved riding his motorcycle.

He was preceded in death by his father, mother, and his grandparents Elmer and Clara Clough, and Victor and Elizabeth Larson, and a brother-in-law Don Jones.

He is survived by his sister Loretta Larson Jones and a brother Dave (Sandi) Larson, nieces, nephews and numerous cousins.

Services will be at 11 a.m., Friday, Dec. 6, 2019 at Schnackenberg Funeral Home in Libby.  Online condolences and memories may be shared at www.schnackenbergfh.com.

Delaine Journot, 80, of Libby

Delores Delaine Journot, 80, of Libby, Mont. passed away Saturday, Nov. 16 in Great Falls, Mont. of natural causes, surrounded by family, and her two fur babies.

Delores was born in Red Oak, Iowa on Jan. 19, 1939 to Vespar Melvin Henderson and Grace Irene Bartlett Henderson. She was one of 11 children; seven girls, four boys.

Delores met and married her husband, and best friend, William E. Journot in Great Falls, Mont. They moved to Libby, Mont. in 1966, where they raised their family. Delores loved working in her yard, her plants and flowers, doing jigsaw puzzles, and spending time with her family, friends, and her four-legged babies, Quincy and Cricket. Delores was preceded in death by her husband, William Edward Journot, and her grandson, William Edward Escudero.

She is survived by her children, Roxanna L. Escudero (Andy) of Libby, Mont. Trashae L. Mirador (Maurino) of Great Falls, Mont. Jeannie M. Journot (Steve) of El Dorado Springs, Mo.

Delores is also survived by her brother, Jack Henderson of Council Bluffs, La., her brother, Gary Henderson (Bonnie) of Fremont, Neb. her brother Michael Vance (Patti) of Oceanside, Wash. her sister, Rosemary Henderson of Council Bluffs, La. her sister, Ginger Henderson, her sister, Christine Lease of Mt. Pleasant, La. her best friend Barbara Wilburn (Bob) of Libby, Mont. her grandchildren, Andres M. Escudero of Libby, Mont. Travis J. Escudero, of Boise Idaho. Timothy D. Journot of Great Falls, Mont. Anthony Mirador (Theresa) of Havre, Mont. Christopher Mirador (Ariel) of Great Falls, Mont. Brandi N. Mirador-Ferriter (Dennis) of Helena, Mont. Tabitha L. Mirador of Great Falls, Mont. David Journot (Mikayla) of Lama, Mo. and Emma Meyer (Brennan) of El Dorado Springs, Mo. and 12 great-grandchildren.

There will be a celebration of life to follow in the spring or summer of 2020.
