The Libby Area Business Association (LABA) held their first annual Libby Crazy Days event last Friday and Saturday, August 24 and 25.
“This was something that happened every year, about thirty years ago,” said event organizer Gail Burger. “When I was a kid, we always got our school clothes there.”
Burger intends to bring it back, and this year Mineral Avenue was closed to traffic from 2nd street to 5th street for the event’s revival.
From 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Saturday, the Association’s members graced the street with carnival-like booths, games, and merchandise for sale.
Sheer brothers Hobbies set up a model car racetrack in the street and entertained folks with some mini car races. Wille the balloon man was there, and there were a few chalk artists busy creating art on the sidewalks as well.
Libby Youth Center, the Nazarene Church, Libby Floral, Managhan’s Furniture, and Libby Gym were among the Crazy Days participants.
