Once again, residents came out to attend and enjoy the Cabinet Peaks Medical Center Annual Health Fair. Community members poured into the event in a steady stream from 9:30am – 12:00pm. Hundreds of delighted fairgoers were entertained by over 65 exhibitors who brought their health related knowledge, tests, games, and take a-ways to share with all who visited their booths.
“In keeping with our Health Fair tradition, Cabinet Peaks Medical Center offered 100 free and reduced cost lab vouchers,” stated Kate Stephens, Marketing Manager at Cabinet Peaks Medical Center. “It is so exciting to see our community members showing an interest in their health by coming to the fair, and at times, even waiting in line to take advantage of these important screenings.”
As in previous years, fair-goers were give then opportunity to sign up for a free lipid and glucose screening and then add three more screenings (A1C, TSH, & Hemogram) at reduced prices if they desired. If community members signed up for all five tests at the health fair, the total cost would be $35.00 per person. At the same time, Cabinet Peaks Medical Center provided over $20,000 in services for the community member who took advantage of the screenings. “It is part of the mission of Cabinet Peaks Medical Center to provide wellness healthcare services, like these, to the communities that we serve; and we are happy to do it,” added Stephens. “The community participation at the fair makes it clear that our population cares greatly about their health and well being, which is what the fair is all about.”
This year’s event included a FITBIT HR SURGE give away. In order to be entered into the drawing, participants were asked to visit all of the CPMC Department booths and participate in their activities. Over one hundred people entered the drawing, and the lucky winner was Leann Sanders from Troy, MT. “We will definitely be bringing this fun event back to the fair again next year,” stated Stephens. “The response was wonderful, and loved by both the public and by our CPMC employees.”
Stephens is appreciative to the entire community for helping to make the fair a success. “All in all, this year’s fair was definitely a hit – from the indoor vendors, to the Kids Zone, the rock climbing wall, free bike helmets, and other outdoor vendors, which were very popular for the duration of the event. A huge thanks to each of them, and to all of the fair goers as well. This is truly a community event, and we are always thrilled at the response we get from both vendors and participants!”
