Monday, May 29

 

9:23 a.m. A grizzly was getting into garbage and other things on Yaak River Rd.  They needed backup  because the suspect was a real bear.

 

10:00 p.m. Lots of vehicles were stopping to look at a vacant lot. It was a lot to take in.

 

Tuesday, May 30

 

1:53 a.m. A man and woman were kicked out of a local motel and then tried to spend the night in the emergency room. They were advised to move on.

 

12:02 p.m. A woman walked into the lobby to discuss a truck she kinda sold to a man.  It was kinda complicated.

 

3:45 p.m. Someone witnessed a kid jump off Kootenai River bridge on Hwy 37. After much ado the subject was located safe and sound. He reported to officers that he needed to cool off.

 

4:28 p.m. Someone was shooting cats on Farm to Market Rd. One was dead. The caller reported they can’t find the second cat for information.

 

7:06 p.m.  A woman called to report a man for driving without a license or insurance. The reporting party was advised to fill out a citizen’s complaint form.

 

8:03 p.m. 911 was called because a man was spotted walking down Mahoney Road carrying a pistol and wearing a backwards baseball cap. The pistol was a pellet gun, the man was not ticketed for wearing his hat backwards.

 

Friday, June 2

 

6:22 a.m. A person called to report the neighbor’s dogs were barking in the early morning, again. The person told dispatch of a previous call on this issue, apparently the dogs did not learn their lesson.

 

1:57 p.m. A person called 911 to report a possible drunk driver in a brown truck deliberately swerved at them and then was speeding up the road. Dispatch attempted to call the reporting party back, but was sent to voicemail. The caller called back a few minutes later and wanted to know why the alleged drunk driver was not in jail.

 

4:43 p.m. A man called to report his wife swerved to miss a deer and struck a few trees. Montana Higway Patrol arrived on the scene and discovered the woman had also struck a guy wire on a telephone pole. The woman was cited for a non-injury accident. The deer got away scott free.

 

6:17 p.m. A caller reported their neighbor for revving engines and playing music at a high volume. Officers responded but were unable to locate the source of the noise. Officers noted they would return to check on the residence throughout the evening. Looks like that party got shut down early.
