Seeking Comments on Norman

McCedar Project

The Libby Ranger District is seeking comments on the Norman McCedar Project, proposed on National Forest System lands approximately one mile southwest of Libby, Montana.

In order to accomplish this, approximately 2577 acres of commercial treatments including clearcuts with reserves, and 1054 acres of non-commercial treatments are proposed. In order to implement these treatments, approximately seven miles of system road would be constructed in old growth and previously harvested areas, closed yearlong. Three miles of temporary roads would be built and rehabilitated following harvest activities.

Written, facsimile, hand-delivered, oral, and electronic comments concerning this action will be accepted for 30 calendar days following the publication of the legal notice in the Missoulian, the newspaper of record, on or about January 18th, 2023.
