Monday, July 10

 

5:24 a.m. A truck was suspiciously parked on Farm to Market with its lights on. Officers responded to shed more light on the situation.

 

9:51 a.m. A red mountain bike was reported at J Neils Park. It raised red flags because it had been parked there for three weeks.

 

4:30 p.m. A deer vs. car accident left one party dead and the other disabled. No human injuries were reported.

 

5:06 p.m. A deer on Kootenai River Rd. appeared to have a neck injury but then moved on. Fish and Game did not go looking, it would have been a pain in the neck.

 

6:08 p.m. A jet ski and it’s rider were reported to possibly be out of gas on the river, above the falls. Responders with boats were ready to search when the ski was located tied to a tree leisurely.

 

8:45 p.m. A possible propane smell was coming from a sewer drain on Cabinet Heights Rd. An officer responded and reported that it might just be the smell of the sewer.

 

11:06 p.m. Someone was reported trespassing on a My Rd. property. It seems My Rd. wasn’t a clear enough name, maybe they’ll consider Not Your Rd. for their next street name.

 

11:25 p.m. A vehicle near Cherry Creek appeared to have blown up. The fire was put out and the vehicle was towed and held for inspection.

 

 

Tuesday, July 11

 

3:20 p.m. Someone on waterfront called to report a woman screaming and then called back to say never mind, it was only birds.

 

3:38 p.m. Someone in his 20s or 30s complained of  chest pain and requested a ride out of the woods near a Libby area trailhead. He ended up being transported by ambulance because when he asked for help, his potential helper noticed both a gun and long knife and decided not to risk being alone in the woods with him.

 

6:12 p.m. Someone on Dakota called 911 to request an officer right now before he was forced to shoot someone.  He ended up at a hotel and no one got shot.

 

7:09 p.m. Someone on Hwy. 2 complained of an excavator running for hours. Officers responded to find a civil situation with a law suit already filed.

 

8:41 p.m. A jet ski ran out of gas in the river and was abandoned by someone who had taken hours so far to go get gas.

 

11:15 p.m. Very loud fireworks were being set off near Vicks Dr.

 

Wednesday, July 12

 

12:13 a.m. A woman reported two 20 something men in a red SUV following her while she walked her dog. They shouted obscenities at her. The woman reported she had no reason to believe that someone would have a problem with her. She was likely an optimist with insomniac tendencies but we have no problem with her either, or her dog.

 

2:02 a.m. A man and woman were reported laying/standing in Hwy. 2.

 

6:27 a.m. A man on Balsam awoke to a Twinkie smeared on his car windows. It was not a piece of cake to clean off.

 

10:53 a.m. A Pipe Creek resident reported a dark colored sedan that pulled up to her mailbox. Yes, that’s all. Makes you wonder what kind of mail she was waiting for doesn’t it?

 

12:03 p.m. A car on Norman Ave. got egged overnight. The situation wasn’t egg-stremely serious, but egging is a crime not a yolk.  The caller wanted it noted in case others were egged so the police could hatch a plan to catch the chicken.

 

12:38 p.m. Officers assisted a motorist on Hwy. 2 by advising them to find a better place to eat lunch.

 

2:30 p.m. An officer reported educating three juveniles about skateboarding in the city business area.

 

5:20 p.m. A small child was walking alone on California Ave. He was picked up and babysat until has parents were located.
