Rifle seasons starts with youth hunt

Libby and Troy schools were closed last Thursday and Friday, and  youth deer hunting was open. It was perfect timing for local families to take advantage of youth hunting before regular rifle season opened on Saturday, Oct. 20. The youth hunt (Apprentice Hunter) program allows kids to hunt with an apprentice starting at age 10. According to Chris Goucher, “The program is awesome. It gives you an opportunity to teach your kids how to hunt and get them out there learning the process.
